approximately 32,000 model-year 2011-12 kia sportage suvs

the problem: the used engine oil pan may leak. if not addressed, the loss of oil may result in used engine damage that can increase the risk of a fire or cause an used engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

the fix: the remedy for this issue is still under development. 

what owners should do: kia will begin notifying owners april 10. owners can call the automaker at 800-333-4542, the national highway traffic safety administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit its website check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
