the 2021 legacy's $23,820 starting price is for the base model, which is powered by a 182-hp 2.4-liter boxer-four paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (cvt) and all-wheel drive. all legacy models, which also include the premium ($26,070), sport ($28,020), limited ($30,820), limited xt ($35,370), and touring xt ($37,070), have subaru's eyesight driver-assist technology as standard, which includes adaptive cruise control and lane centering, and the limited xt and touring xt models come equipped with a 260-hp turbocharged 2.4-liter engine.
among additional standard features on the 2021 legacy sedan are keyless entry, a dual 7.0-inch touchscreen on the base model, an 11.6-inch screen on the premium model and up, and apple carplay and android auto capability. two option packages are available for the premium model: one, which costs $1000, adds blind-spot detection with rear cross-traffic alert, push-button start, and led fog lights. the other, which costs $2595, adds a moonroof and tomtom navigation to the first package's list of features.
the legacy sport and limited also get two similar option packages. the sport offers a $2245 package that adds reverse automated emergency braking on top of the premium model's options. the limited adds a heated steering wheel and a driver distraction mitigation system for a total of $2045. the limited xt gets a harman/kardon sound system, and the touring xt gets a sierra tan nappa leather interior.
the 2021 outback's $27,845 starting price is for the base model, which is also powered by the 2.4-liter engine, although the more powerful turbocharged engine is equipped on the onyx edition xt and above. the outback is available in six different trim levels above the base model: premium ($30,095), limited ($34,645), touring ($38,545), onyx edition xt ($36,195), limited xt ($39,045), and touring xt ($40,995).
