the delayed launch of the new 2021 ford bronco is still a few months away (ford's latest word is that the first cars will reach owners this summer), but that hasn't stopped the bronco brand from making a showing at an event typically dominated by its off-road rival, jeep. ford announced today that it would collaborate with three leading off-road aftermarket companies—4 wheel parts, arb 4x4 accessories, and rtr vehicles—to provide aftermarket parts and accessories for the bronco and bronco sport. and to drive the point home, ford brought four custom bronco builds (one from each of the chosen parts collaborators, plus one extra) to this year's easter jeep safari in moab, utah.
ford says that aftermarket offerings available at the bronco's launch will include suspension and lift kits, custom wheels and body components, performance driveline parts, and accessories including tents, lighting, and storage racks. all three companies will also provide odds and ends for the bronco sport, which has been available since last fall.
all three of the custom broncos outfitted by these companies for show at the easter event are four-door models. 4 wheel parts gave its truck a new front bumper, skid plate, and winch platform, a roof rack with light mounts, 37-inch tires, and a rooftop tent, among other upgrades. arb 4x4 accessories' upgrades include new front and rear bumpers, heavy-duty rock sliders, a differential cover, and an onboard refrigerator. rtr vehicles gave its bronco a refrigerator, too, along with a new 3-d printed grille, custom rock sliders and rear bumper, 35-inch tires, and a light bar.
ford has also sent its own custom bronco to the easter jeep safari (ford refers to this event simply as the easter safari, no need to guess why) and will show some bronco and bronco sport concepts. in the event that you, like us, were unable to attend the crowning event on moab's social calendar this year, try to find some solace in the fact that next year there will be broncos rolling on the trails, and not just on display.
