the trailer for the new ghostbusters movie, ghostbusters: afterlife (above) shows the uncovering and revival of the ecto-1 cadillac, the car that became famous after the first ghostbusters. one of the characters is shown uncovering the car, which looks like it has been untouched seemingly since 1984, when the first movie came out. not only is the ecto-1 featured, but the trailer opens with a scene of a group of kids piled into the bed of a 1979 ford ranchero gt.
this past summer, sigourney weaver revealed that she would be making a return to the movie as her original character, dana barrett, and not only that, but also that dan aykroyd and bill murray would also be featured in the movie.
slated to appear in theaters in july 2020, the film has already geared itself to take advantage of all the nostalgia we hold for the original ghostbusters.
