hyundai shared a teaser image of a plug-in hybrid suv concept that will debut at the l.a. auto show next week. we think it could be a preview of an redesigned tucson, which could offer a plug-in-hybrid option.
from what we can make out in the teaser, we see that this suv concept has sharp, angular lines and a light-up grille that has certain elements that open and close when the vehicle is in motion. the headlights, once they light up in sequential order, form a "vision" logo we see at the end of the video. and, because it's a hybrid model, there's a charging port that looks to have a cool sliding cover.
as of now, hyundai offers both the ioniq and sonata as plug-in-hybrid models, and the company also sells the kona electric and nexo (the hydrogen fuel-cell crossover that's only available in california) in its alternative-fuel lineup.
there have been rumors that the next-generation tucson will have a rather daring design, following in the footsteps of the new sonata's stylish looks. we'll have all the info related to this concept next week.
