Jaguar Kills XF Sportbrake Wagon for U.S. Market

Jaguar Kills XF Sportbrake Wagon for U.S. Market

  • jaguar is discontinuing the xf sportbrake wagon for the u.s. market.
  • the mid-size luxury wagon is updated for europe with new styling and technology.
  • fortunately, u.s. customers can still find wagon offerings from audi, mercedes, porsche, and volvo.

jaguar is pulling the plug on the wagon version of the xf, which it calls the sportbrake. the news was first reported by cnet. introduced for 2018, the longroof only managed to survive for three model years in the u.s. market. it'll continue on elsewhere with the same design and tech updates bestowed upon the 2021 xf sedan; the updated xf sportbrake is pictured above.

in the u.s., the xf sportbrake competed in the mid-size luxury wagon segment. it wasn't our favorite of the bunch, though, as it finished third out of three in a 2018 comparison test. many of its competitors are now offered in america with suv-inspired body cladding and raised ride heights, such as the audi a6 allroad, mercedes-benz e-class all-terrain, and volvo v90 cross country.

a cursory search of nationwide inventory showed only a handful of 2020 jaguar xf sportbrake models remaining in the country, but many of them were listed with significant discounts. so if you've had your eye on a jag wagon, it's now or never.
