this week on window shop with car and driver, we asked our editors to suggest nice used luxury cars that can be found for roughly the same price as a new, base-model honda accord or toyota rav4. some of us fit the brief better than others—we're looking at you, quiroga—but the fact is, buying a used car may mean a lot more bang for your buck.
used cars might not come with a warranty and they certainly won't have that new-car smell, but perhaps some of our suggestions here could sway you. wouldn't a 2016 bmw 750i look mighty nice in your driveway? how about one of c/d's favorite wagons–the mercedes-benz e-class wagon–as your new grocery getter? you might even be surprised to find that a pre-loved bentley or maserati can fit the budget, sometimes even with money left over for an extended warranty or to save for repairs and maintenance.
