Vehicles Affected: Approximately 9,200 model-year 2015 Subaru WRX and WRX STI sedans equipped with an optional factory-installed subwoofer in the trunk
The Problem: Items in the trunk may cause the subwoofer wiring to contact the subwoofer's metal frame, possibly resulting in an electrical short. This could damage the subwoofer amplifier and may result in the subwoofer overheating, increasing the risk of a fire.
The Fix: Dealers will inspect the subwoofer wire, install a wire retainer clip and replace the subwoofer, as necessary, for free.
