2018 Jeep Wrangler

The 2018 Jeep Wrangler proved to be quite a hit at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto Show. We named it Best in Show — and we were hardly the only ones excited about it. One of our photographers reported waiting 45 minutes just to get to the unveiling.

Rumors and leaks about the new Wrangler have been appearing since late summer. We even spotted some test mules while conducting PickupTrucks.com testing near the Arizona-Nevada border.

Leaked owner's manuals and accessories tided us over as we moved into fall, when Jeep finally released official images of the entire Wrangler ahead of its L.A. debut. And then the EPA posted fuel-economy numbers on its website, setting off another round of speculation.

The reveal was mobbed, as mentioned above, yet even with all the information out there, Jeep still managed to surprise by announcing a plan for a plug-in hybrid Wrangler for the 2020 model year.
