Approximately 1,800 model-year 2017 Lexus ES 350 luxury sedans
The Problem: The right-hand side tie rod assembly may not have been installed properly. Over time, the driver may experience noise; the vehicle can drift to the left or right while moving; or the vehicle may experience a loss of steering control. All of these conditions increase the risk of a crash.
The Fix: Dealers will confirm that the right-hand side tie rod lock nut is properly tightened; if the lock nut is loose, dealers will replace the lock nut, steering gear assembly and tie rod assembly with new ones for free.
What Owners Should Do: Lexus said it will notify all owners by mid-July. Owners can call Lexus manufacturer Toyota at 800-331-4331 or Lexus at 800-255-3987, or visit www.toyota.com/recall for more info.
