two-door suvs were once the rage when the sport-utility vehicle first rose to prominence in the 1990s. back then, everything from the ford explorer to the jeep cherokee to the toyota rav4 came in both two- and four-door configurations. this body style fell out of favor years ago, but we're thinking it's ripe for reinvention—and what better model to kick it off than the new kia telluride?
we love the rugged, boxy styling of kia's newest crossover, and we think it translates particularly well to a shape with a shorter wheelbase, two fewer doors, and a whole lot more street presence. it could be the perfect vehicle to fill the hole vacated by the range rover sv coupe, a highly exclusive two-door variant of the high-lux range rover that unfortunately bit the dust when land rover pulled the plug on its initial plans to produce 999 of them.
so kia, what do you say? we're sure you weren't thinking of building anything like this, but would you entertain the possibility? we'd even take a one-off concept for sema if it looks this cool.
