Just to ensure we don't forget that Maserati has a mid-engine sports car in the works, the Italian automaker continues to whet our appetite for what's to come. In a release declaring that the car is being dedicated to the late, legendary racer Sir Stirling Moss, Maserati sneaked in the clearest photos yet of the forthcoming sports car.
Back in January, Maserati released photos of a camo-covered mule, in February revealed that the sports car would go by MC20, and then in March released blurry photos of what was obviously not the mule. These photos offer us our first clear glimpse of the MC20, revealing a sleek design with a low profile that resembles that of the Alfa Romeo 4C.
We speculate that the MC20, which is scheduled to come out this fall, will be priced in the six figures, as befits an Italian sports car equipped with a new twin-turbo V-6 that will churn out more than 600 horsepower. As we've previously said, it's expected to have a hybrid version later. Maserati says that a battery-electric version will come in time.
